Projects submitted to Devfolio hackathons will automatically appear on your Devfolio Profile.
📝 How to Submit a Project at a Devfolio Hackathon
Step 1: Head to Your Hackathon Dashboard
- Log in to your Devfolio account.
- Go to the Hackathon you're participating in.
- Click on "Add Project" from your dashboard.
Step 2: Fill in the Project Details
The editor is fully WYSIWYG ✨, meaning what you see is what you get. It's designed to be visual, intuitive, and easier to navigate. You can preview your project as you build it out, making the submission process a lot smoother (and a little more fun!)
Step 3: Saving & Publishing Your Project ✍️
- Project Status: You will be sent to dashboard upon saving or publishing 🔗 V2 Application

orSubmitted
- Publish Project: Once you're satisfied with all the details, click
Publish Project
to finalize your submission and make it publicly visible. - Edit Project: Use the
Edit project
option from your Hackathon Dashboard to update your draft whenever needed - you can always come back later to review or make changes before the Hackathon Deadline hits.

📋 Fields in the Project Submission Form
Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll be asked:
- Project Name — Give your hack a name!
- Tagline — One-liner elevator pitch
- Problem it solves — What does your hack address and why is it useful?
- Challenges you ran into — Share the blockers you overcame
- Technologies used — E.g., React, Node.js, Figma, Solidity
- Links — GitHub, hosted site, Figma, Drive, Play Store, etc.
- Video Demo — YouTube preferred
- Screenshots — First image becomes the project’s cover image

The first uploaded image becomes your project’s thumbnail or cover on Devfolio.
🌐 Submitting a Project (Online Hackathons)
Team or Solo Submissions
In online hackathons, you can submit as an individual or as a team.
🧑💻 Submit as an Individual
Team admin only
If you’re in a team, only the team admin can submit the project.
Make sure all team members are added before submission.
🧾 Submitting a Project (Offline & Online With Application Review)
✅ Step 1: RSVP Individually
Mandatory RSVP
All team members must RSVP and be checked-in before the team can submit a project.

🚀 Step 3: Submit the Project
Team admin only
Only the Team Admin will have the ability to submit the project on behalf of the team.
📌 Key Notes
- ✅ Only checked-in teams are allowed to submit.
- 🧑💻 Only team admins can access the submission button.
- ❌ Individual submissions are not allowed in Offline or Online+Review formats.
- ⏳ Teams can submit anytime before the deadline.
- 📢 Submitted projects become publicly visible on the hackathon page instantly.
- 🏷️ For API/Sponsor-specific prizes, mention them clearly in the Technologies Used section to improve discoverability in the judging tab.
